On February 18th, 2011, Isabella Evans was life-flighted to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital from her home in Baker City and was diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia. During her journey through her treatment, she met and became close friends with Kiwanis Fellow Dr. Nameeta Richard. Because of the care she received at Doernbecher and from Dr. Richard, Isabella was instrumental (played a key role) in securing KDCCP as a beneficiary of the Baker City Kiwanis Club’s fundraiser which features the Actor’s Studio production of a melodrama called “LaRue’s Return.” Baker City Kiwanians and other townsfolk took roles in the play which was recorded and made into a DVD. Isabella’s second role is the one she takes in the play as “The Swamp Crone.”  The DVD is for sale to raise money for Baker City Kiwanis projects and for KDCCP.  They go for $15 apiece downloaded or $20 apiece if you want yours mailed.
